Historic return and team overview: St Lucia's Davis Cup Journey begins.

The Davis Cup team has departed for Trinidad and Tobago, marking a significant event for tennis in St. Lucia after 18 years away from the competition. The team left on Sunday, 21st July, following extensive training and preparation. This return to the Davis Cup is a momentous occasion, and our athletes are eager to showcase their skills on this prestigious stage.

The team will be competing against Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Cuba, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with Panama having withdrawn from the competition.

The St. Lucia Tennis Association extends heartfelt thanks to the sponsors: the National Lotteries Authority, the St. Lucia Olympic Committee, and the Oliver Gobat Sports Fund. Their support has been crucial in ensuring St. Lucia's representation on the international scene and the successful return to the Davis Cup.

The team is led by player-captain Vernon Lewis, who is racket 1, and includes Jordan Hunte (racket 2), Maxx William (racket 3), and Alberton Richelieu (racket 4). With a mix of experienced and emerging players, including the seasoned Vernon Lewis and Alberton Richelieu alongside the promising Maxx William and Jordan Hunte, the team is well-prepared and balanced.

We wish the team the best of luck and will keep the public updated with daily results and scores throughout the competition. We anticipate strong performances and continued support from the community as our team competes at this high level.
