RESULTS DAY TWO RBC JUNIOR TENNIS TOURNAMENT TTO
The U10s Nefertari Goddard, Jelani Flermius and Kimari Felix served off the first round of play on Sunday. Our only entry in the girls U10 Goddard dismissed Shaena Phillip from Trinidad in straight sets 4-1 4-0. Kimari Felix was challenged by Dylan Frost from Trinidad but in the end he was the victor serving out the match with a score of 4-2 4-2. Jelani Flermius fell to the racket of Anthony Zachary of Trinidad and Tobago losing the first set 4-1. He was very composed in the second set over powering Zachary to a 4-2 win. The deciding match tie break was very close with Flermius losing by only 2 point 11-9.
In the girls U12 draw Samuella Bertrand defeated her doubles partner Joelle Habib in straight sets 4-0 4-2, both girls are vying for a spot in the main draw after losing their opening matches. In the boys U12 Denney Estava breezed past Adrian Sanchez 4-0 4-0. Armani Rosemond fell to the racket of Favian Dates 5-4 4-1. Immanuel Charles played a challenging first round singles against Barbadian player Cruz Thornton, he lost in straight sets 4-2 4-2. Sanjay Lake won in straight sets- - against Trinidadian player.
Amia Jn Marie was not so lucky this time around after losing her two opening singles in straight sets. She plays for her final position in the back draw. Annakie Arlette played a very intense opening match against Isobel Alleyne, she won in straight sets 4-2 5-3.
Amara Jn Marie and Iyana Paul both won their singles matches. Jn Marie defeated Malia David from Trinidad in 3 sets 6-4 4-6 10-3. Paul played Ana Sanchez defeating her in straight sets 6-4 6-2.
