St Lucia Tennis Association Announces Billie Jean King Cup Team
The St. Lucia Tennis Association is thrilled to announce the Billie Jean King Cup Team. This marks a historic moment as it is the first time St. Lucia will participate in the Billie Jean King Cup. The team has been working diligently in preparation, and the players are eager to represent their nation with pride.
Leading the team as the first racket and captain is Meggan William-Dixon. Meggan has been representing St. Lucia in tennis since she was 9 years old. She is the former champion of the Coca-Cola Under-14 COTECC Tournament held in St. Lucia and the CO William COTECC Under-14 Tournament in Barbados. Meggan is enthusiastic about leading the team and mentoring junior and emerging tennis talents in St. Lucia.
The second racket is Jessica Eudovic, a highly competitive athlete who has represented St. Lucia at the Junior Billie Jean King Cup Competition twice. She also competed in the JITIC Competition. Jessica is passionate about tennis and has long anticipated this opportunity to compete at this prestigious level.
Iyana Paul, the third racket, has been representing St. Lucia since she was 10 years old. She has been meticulously prepared for this level of competition and is excited about the challenge ahead.
The team is set to compete from August 3rd to 8th at the National Racket Center in Trinidad and Tobago. The St. Lucia Tennis Association extends heartfelt thanks to the sponsors: the National Lotteries Authority, the St. Lucia Olympic Committee, and the Oliver Gobat Sports Fund, for their unwavering support.
We encourage the public to rally behind the team and support our athletes as they strive to bring home victory. Stay tuned for updates on the team's progress throughout the competition. Thank you to the public for your continued support.
