HIGHLIGHT MATCH OF THE DAY- Match of the day is Ahlil Cyril vs Nathanael Charles

Winning first round matches is critical in competition especially defeating ones opponent in straight sets love all. This was Alhil Cyril's goal as he played his first match today defeating Nathanael Charles in straight sets 4-1 4-2. Cyril was very upset after the match, bearing in mind he won, he was just unable to show any enthusiasm or excitement. When asked he said he wanted to beat his opponent love all. He is a very determined student athlete with a passion and special drive for the sport. He sets his goals high and works hard at attaining them. When asked what is the plan for the rest of the tournament he said "it hasn't changed, LOVE ALL."

Charles on the other hand played very competitively and aggressively keeping his composure winning quick points in the rallies but making far too many unforced errors making Cyril's job easier.  Both boys played awesome tennis!

Play continues at the Tennis Centre tomorrow Saturday 9th April with the continuation of the Round Robin matches. At the end of the day main draw spots will be claimed!

We encourage the public to come out and support the athletes as they play hard, work hard and try their best to remain focus on their quest to the championship round which is the final in their respective categories.

The Tennis Association expresses gratitude to The Oliver Gobat Sports Fund (TOGS) and The Corner Boutique and Cafe for your continuous support given to tennis and the development of our athletes.
